Pay with your phone app
Another system is in the works that would allow you to pay for things with your smartphone.
A handful of major U.S. retailers have banded together to form Merchant Customer Exchange, also known as MCX. Some of the participating merchants include CVS, Lowe’s, Shell, Target and Walmart.
The service will provide a mobile app for making purchases, plus include customized promotional and discount offers. Development of the app is underway now.
