Fake Facebook profiles
Facebook says it's looking to disable more than 83 million fake accounts. The social media company says 8.7 percent of its monthly active users worldwide are actually duplicate or false accounts.
45 million are duplicate accounts. And according to Facebook, users are not allowed to have more than one personal account or make accounts on behalf of other people.
Then there's nearly 23 million misclassified accounts for companies, groups or pets. Those types of profiles are allowed, but Facebook says they need to be created as Pages.
And the final 14 million undesirable accounts are the most dangerous. Facebook says those are accounts created specifically for scams and spamming.
