Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It always feels good to make your last car payment. But it actually led to some major headaches for one Valley woman. After paying off her car, she couldn't get the title. That's when she turned to Contact 13.

"Why are they doing this to me? Where is my title? Give me my title," said Caroline Wolf.

Caroline was furious. It all started last June, when she bought a 1994 Geo Prism at a car lot on the northeast side of the valley.

"I made a down payment of $550 and the agreement was to pay $200 a month until it's paid off," said Caroline.

In all, she paid more than $1,600, with the final payment made in December. But that's when Caroline says her troubles started.

"They were telling me that basically, I needed to fork over $352 or I would never see the title," says Caroline.

She says she argued with the salesman, but he wouldn't give-in. But she says she knew something didn't seem right, because there's nothing in this contract about a fee for the title.

"So after struggling for countless days and then days turned into weeks, I said okay I'm done. I'm just gonna call Contact 13," says Caroline.

She says, that upset the salesman.

"And they said don't threaten me. Don't threaten me. I said I'm not threatening you. I'm just telling you what I'm going to do," says Caroline.

And she did just that. She called Contact 13, and we called the car lot to find out why they hadn't released the title. And about an hour later, Caroline had her car title.

"You were able to help me get my title. You simply made a huge difference in my life. And I'm so grateful and appreciative," says Caroline.

So here's the Contact 13 bottom line: Read the fine print. Caroline knew there was nothing in her contract that said she had to pay any extra fee. And in the end, that's what helped her. If you're facing a problem with a local car lot, you can file a complaint with the DMV's Compliance Enforcement Division. They're the proper agency to investigate issues involving car lots and dealerships.
