Katie Crowther joined the Action News Team in July of 2010 as a general assignment reporter. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, she worked as the weekend anchor at WTVO/WQRF in Rockford, Illinois.
Katie is from the suburbs of Detroit. She attended John Carroll University in Cleveland and earned her master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
She started in sports, but soon made the switch to news. While in school, she had television internships in Washington D.C., New York City, and Dublin, Ireland.
During her journalism career, Katie has covered the challenges of the Big Three Automakers, the deadly campus shootings at Northern Illinois University, and the tragic train derailment in suburban Chicago.
In her spare time, Katie loves to watch and play sports, dance, and spend time outdoors.
