Expert Shows How Surveillance Video Leads To Arrests

Updated:

The economy isn't just affecting jobs.

A local security company says business is booming right now as more people resort to criminal acts.

We went to an expert to find out just how much surveillance shots can help get them caught.

Criminals have been caught on camera waving guns at unsuspecting cage workers, smashing out doorway windows, and ripping off a sports book, sporting motorcycle helmets.

Jonathan Finer of Sting Surveillance says his clients are wanting more eyes in the sky.

"When we've ssen a robbery or seen an incident its almost as if your watching a movie," he says.

Jonathan showed us this crook, scarying off the security guard, jumping through the casino's cage window and snatching a few hundred bucks.

He then showed us a guy smashing through a coffee shop's window and snagging their safe.

Both were caught thanks to the cameras.

"Undeniable evidence," Fine says.

But with a robbery last week at the Hilton Hotel and Casino, the crooks were wearing helmets.

Fine says there's still clues.

"Knowing what exit they went out obviously they're going to see which exit they went out, which car they went into and which direction they went," he says.

You would think with all this high tech security crooks would be too nervous to rob a major casino like the Hilton but Fine says with the state of the economy he's not surprised.

"With the economy the way it is they way the housing market is its only going to get worse," he says.

But the cameras will still be watching.
