Vows fill Vegas on Valentine's Day

Many call it "the Superbowl of relationships", and it seems a Vegas getaway is the perfect gesture to spruce up the romance.

Wedding chapels say Valentine's Day falling on a three day weekend is the perfect recipe for an influx of nuptuals!

Although wedding licences issued in Clark County have decreased in recent years, many chapels are confident it will turn around on this Valentine's Day weekend.

"I think our couples are a little more cautious of what they're purchasing in a wedding package. But they're still making sure the day is special, and they're getting all the bells and whistles they're looking for," said Linda Freeman, with Vegas Weddings.

Vegas Weddings married more than 60 couples on Saturday, and they're expecting plenty of walk-ins through the weekend.

Many newlyweds, fresh off the altar, tell Action News the experience was well worth the money.

"It just had a alot more meaning doing it on Valentines day, plus he won't forget the date," said Stacy Reiter from South Dakota.

In these trying economic times, you could say this is proof that love will always find a way.
