A new smoke free casino has opened in northern Nevada.

The Fernley Nugget say its patrons backed their decision to make their newest property a non-smoking venue.

In 2006, Nevada voters approved a ballot measure banning smoking at restaurants and bars, that serve food.

The ban does not apply to the gambling floors of casinos.
