Debt collection agencies are getting caught in the credit crunch.
Aargon Collection Agency on West Sahara Avenue is hiring, but only on a commission basis with a draw.
Owner Duane Christy says he's being inundated with resumes of prospective employees, ranging from college graduates who can't find jobs, to casino workers looking to supplement the income they have.
But Aargon can't afford a hefty payroll right now.
The company has plenty of clients, with more than $2 billion in debt owed by more than 7 million people.
But Christy says he can't collect what people can't pay and his agency's business is down 20%.
