Governor Jim Gibbons is breaking his silence.
Gibbons opened up about his divorce and the accusations swirling around about the other women in his life.
Action News anchor Casey Smith sat down with him.
"I do not think it is fair to the people of this state, I do not think it is fair to her, I do not think it is fair to me and I do not think it is fair to the kids and the children to make this divorce a public issue," said Governor Gibbons.
Governor Gibbons finally broke his silence on his divorce and the pressure it is putting on his family, his state and his soon to be ex-wife Dawn.
Governor Gibbons filed for divorce a few months ago and it has been a whirlwind of speculation and allegations ever since.
Action News talked to him about the more than 850 text messages to his married friend, Kathy Karrasch, in 2007.
"I happen to have people that I have on both sides that are married and unmarried that are very, very close friends. Very close friends to the point where if I have a question about what is happening in the day, how do I interpret this, what do I need to do, what you are impressions, I hope that I can go ask them. That is a lot of what we were doing," said Governor Gibbons.
There is also the recent pictures of him hugging ex-playboy model Leslie Durant in a Reno parking lot.
"She had chest pains, it was radiating down her back and she could not catch her breath. She was crying and she did not know what was going on, she sort of had anxiety. I thought she was having a heart attack. I put my arms around her to convince her that she needs to go to the hospital," said Governor Gibbons.
Gibbons says he is just friends with these women and likes to relax in their company in his off hours.
It is those pictures that have Governor Gibbons and his staff doing damage control at various media outlets around the state.
Most of it came out around the same time the state was fighting to balance its budget.
He will not admit he is losing sleep over all this, but he is losing friends.
"You know, I may have the tough skin, but it is my friend who sits out there and get you know the same sort of allegations labeled against them, who do not deserve it. Some of them say Jim, I cannot be your friend anymore," said Governor Gibbons.
