Thousands are now in the process of getting tested after officials revealed last month patients at the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada may have been exposed to Hepatitis C because of unsafe medical practices at the center.
Many who may have been infected have yet to be tested.
Other people are waiting on results.
Action News anchor Jessica Lovell talked to some of those who are anxiously waiting on a phone call.
38 year old Bill Rovak, like thousands of others, may have been exposed to Hepatitis or HIV at the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada.
Rovak said, "If it was not for having some faith, I think I would be a basket case."
Now almost two weeks after learning of the outbreak, he waits for answers on his test results on whether or not he is has been infected with Hepatitis or HIV.
Rovak called to check in on his test results.
Rovak asked, "Can I call tomorrow or is there a time period I should wait?"
The center told Rovak he would have to wait until the end of the week.
Rovak now endures the agonizing days, waiting and wondering.
The worst part of it all, Rovak says is the distance he now feels from his wife of 13 years.
"I think she has been hesitant on the physical, your sex life of course, not on just that but touching hands," Rovak explained.
Rovak and his wife have two children together.
He says although he is hurt by the rejection, he understands and imagines the worst case scenario.
"I would not want to infect her, because then whose going to take care of my kids?," Rovak thought.
Now after making the call to the clinic, Rovak must wait several more days for answers.
Days that will feel like eternity, until life can hopefully get back to normal for he and his family.
Bill says he still has two more tests that need to be ran.
He is now considering going out of state for those.
