City of Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen and US Congresswoman Dina Titus help unveil a Habitat for Humanity green prototype home at a press conference and VIP open house on April 6, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 1808 Merze Avenue, Henderson, Nevada 89011. Fulfilling their mission to provide decent and affordable housing to residents of Southern Nevada, the Las Vegas Chapter of Habitat for Humanity has completed two green and sustainable homes based on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria that result in lower energy bills, improved indoor air quality that improves occupant health and a higher resale value for the family. A public open house immediately follows from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
