UMC issued the following response regarding the lawsuit filed against them by Latricia Richard:
In an attempt to unfairly disparage UMC, another press release has been issued claiming EMTALA violations against the hospital. UMC strongly denies the allegations made in the attorney's release. Unfortunately, the attorney well knows the hospital is hampered by patient privacy laws, and as such, is prohibited from discussing the case.
