LAS VEGAS, NV - A newly released sketch has parents in the Southeast valley on edge. Police say the predator tried to kidnap a young teen on her way to school.
While Metro is just coming out with the sketch, the incident happened back on November 13th.
According to police, the 13-year-old girl was on her way to Mack Middle School, near Mountain Vista and Vegas Valley, in the morning hours. That's when a Hispanic male pulled up in a black SUV.
The man reportedly tried to grab the girl after making some degrading remarks.
The girl did not cooperate and was able to run to school, where authorities were alerted.
She told police that she does not know the culprit, but was able to give them enough information for the sketch.
School police have been informed and are doing extra patrols in the area.
Metro is now hoping the public can help in tracking this suspect down.
If you recognize this suspect or know anything more, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro's Sexual Assault Section at 828-3421.
