U2 fans jam packed Sam Boyd Stadium on Friday for the sold out concert. But at the end of the U2 concert people started flooding the streets, looking for a way to get back home after taxi cabs bailed out on them.

Officials at Sam Boyd Stadium say they cleared multiple lanes near the arena for taxi drop offs, but they never thought that many of the drivers wouldn't return for the concert goers. Many were so frustrated and desperate to get home that they walked throughout Tropicana just to find a cab and only to find out that in Las Vegas taxi drivers can't pick up customers in the streets.

"The Taxi Cab Authority didn't allocate additional cabs to the event but companies were aware and sent plenty of cabs to handle traffic," explained Elisabeth Daniels, the Public Information Officer for the Nevada Department of Business and Industry.

The Department of Business and Industry, which oversees the Taxi Cab Authority says they have no say on how the companies place the drivers on specific routes, even when big crowds at certain events are expecting them to show up.
