Messages of faith and sorrow are being dropped off around a small memorial set up where a baby girl's body was found.
The 18-to-24 month old girl was found in a dumpster by Sierra Vista and Swenson, behind the Kona Loha Sierra Aparments.
That's where residents, along with complete strangers from the area are coming to drop off flowers, stuffed animals and other mementos.
"I don't understand why people would do that. If you don't want a child, just drop it on somebody's doorstep, really. It's terrible," said Kit Russell.
Metro investigators are searching for the baby's mother, 20-year-old Darrean Williams and her boyfriend 37-year-old William Marshall.
Both are only being called "persons of interest" at this time.
However, police say the little girl died as a result of blunt force trauma trauma to the head.
"I held my daughter all day today," said mourner Kristal Hambrick. "I'm suppose to be at work now. I made sure I came here just to show my condolences."
Mourners say the only relief now will be when somebody is punished for this.
