Times are tough financially for a lot of people. But some valley women are taking matters into their own hands and making money the old fashioned way.
One customer at a time.
It called Votre Vu. Its a new skin care line with everything from hand creams to face creams to lip balms.
"Its fun, its a fun thing to do," Amy Halovich says.
But more than just fun, these women want to make money.
"I'm a single parent and I'm a school teacher and I needed to make some money," Laura Mata says.
For Laura direct selling is the perfect second job.
And the Direct Selling Association labels direct selling as recession proof. Something even government jobs are obviously not.
"This is a home based business. Its French skin care botanically based and this is to supplement my income as a school teacher," Amy Halovich says.
Amy is right there with Laura. With budget cuts looming they're worried about next year's salary.
"Its so important with the recession and us not knowing how much money we're going to be making or if we have a job. That's really important to get that extra money to make sure my kids have the things they need," Laura says.
Since this is a new product and these ladies are beginners a cooperate trainer is flown out to teach them how to sell more product and thus make more money.
"You make a commission off of everything you sell," Amy says.
When the products range from twenty bucks to a hundred and sixty, it could pump out some good cash.
