Updated:

Dozens of firefighters are battling the flames at the Monte Carlo hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

No major injuries have been reported at this time.

The fire on the west wing is contained and the south wing is nearly contained.

The building has been nearly evacuated.  Floors 15 and above have been entirely evacuated.

There are reports of welders being on the roof prior to the start.  But the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Crews responded after getting several phone calls of flames breaking out at the hotel and casino.

Las Vegas Boulevard has been closed as crews handle the blaze.

People are being urged to avoid the area at all costs.
